Essential yoga exercises can be practiced by almost everyone and anyone to increase body endurance, ensure a better body metabolism and strength and maintain the body balance well. The different yoga poses taught and practiced in different yoga centers are helpful in exercising of different body organs influencing and curing many body disorders and ailments. Some of the essential yogas and asanas that one must practice are:

Adho Mukha Svanasana or Downward-Facing Dog Pose:

Bhujangasana or Cobra Pose:

However, as with Adho Mukha Svanasana, this asana should not be practiced by people suffering from back injuries and Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. The pregnant women should also refrain from practicing this asana. It is always best to seek approval from your doctor if you are suffering from any ailment in which you think this yoga pose can be a risk.

Balasana or Child Pose:
Mainly practiced for the relaxation and calmness this essential yoga pose provides, this yoga pose helps in treating your stress, tiredness, and fatigue. In this yoga pose, you are supposed to lightly stretch your ankles, hips and thighs. The people practicing Balasana or Child Pose say that it helps you relive back and neck pain.

However, pregnant women and people with diarrhea should not attempt this yoga pose. Similarly people with knee injury should not practice this yoga without consulting their doctor. Even if the doctor advises you to practice this pose don’t attempt it in the absence of an experienced trainer.

Padmasana or Lotus Pose:
This essential yoga pose is not only one of the most popular yoga poses, but it also has many benefits. It has been known to beneficial in easing menstrual discomfort, provides a calming effect to the brain, and if practiced regularly can also lead to easy child birth. However, the lotus pose requires you to have a very flexible body along with keeping the hips flexible and stretching them as far as possible. This yoga pose simulates the abdominal activity, and also help in proper functioning of spine, pelvis, and bladder. The people practicing this yoga pose need to stretch their arms and knees. Therefore, it is important for people suffering from knee and ankle injuries to consult their doctor before practicing this yoga pose. If the doctor has his own thoughts about this yoga pose, then it would be beneficial to attempt the toned down versions of this essential yoga pose.
