Impact of Yoga Posture on Yoga Exercises

What is the first thought that crosses your mind when you hear the term ‘Yoga’! Well you may imagine an Indian saint or a yogi as they are popularly known as, with their body twisted and turned into a posture that looks impossible to perform.

Yes, you are right! Yoga is a set of exercises that’s a combination of different yoga postures and breathing exercises coupled together. All these yoga postures and exercises if practiced properly under the able guidance of a yoga instructor can be greatly beneficial for your mind and body. These postures though may look difficult to perform in the beginning can be mastered with practice.

So what’s the difference between yoga postures and yoga exercises? Well, all exercises, including yoga involve some physical body movement leading to overall fitness and well being of the human body. However yoga, unlike the other western form of exercise, involves the yogi or the practitioner practicing a number of yoga postures. This in itself is an exercise.
