Asthanga Yoga and Its Benefits?

In the Sanskrit language, Ashtanga refers to eight steps of yoga and therefore, Ashtanga yoga refers to all the eight limbs or steps of yoga. Also known as the power yoga, the ashtanga yoga is the Indian name given to the branch of yoga developed and populated by Maharishi Patanjali.

The ashtanga yoga comprises of a set of exercises and yoga poses that are most beneficial for athletes who are practicing a particular sport or game for winning laurels for their respected country. When performing ashtanga yoga remember that these yoga asana are a series of steps that goes from easier to difficult. This means that each yoga pose in this series is more difficult to perform than its earlier counterpart. However, each of these series of steps leads to more benefits for the practitioner. Not only this, it also leads to an increase in their strength, stamina, flexibility, and clarity in the thought process.
